Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s administrative prowess and enduring legacy encompass unparalleled military acumen.

In a remarkable tribute display, soldiers organized a Shiv Jayanti celebration programme at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, situated on the India-Pakistan Line of Control. Despite challenging weather conditions, with temperatures dipping below 0 degrees and snow covering the ground, the soldiers paid heartfelt respects to the 17th-century Maratha warrior king.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Born in 1630, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj fought against the Mughals, carving out a formidable empire that would later evolve into one of the most celebrated kingdoms in history. Celebrated for his exceptional administrative acumen and military skills, Shivaji Maharaj’s 394th birth anniversary was observed nationwide on Monday.

“On his Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the fearless warrior, visionary leader, protector of culture, and embodiment of good governance, acknowledging the founder of the Maratha Empire, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. ‘Tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his Jayanti. His life inspires generations,'” he wrote on X.

“In the attached video message, the Prime Minister was heard saying, ‘350 years back when Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj came to power, his rule had the vision of Swaraj and nationalism. He had always prioritized India’s unity. His ideals remain true in the vision of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat today.”

Ramesh Bais, the governor of Maharashtra,marked  the event by placing floral tributes at Raj Bhavan. Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, joined celebrations alongside deputy chief ministers Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis at Shivneri Fort.

On his ‘X’ profile, Chief Minister Shinde expressed, “Salutations to the revered deity of Akhand Hindustan, the founder of Hindavi Swarajya, Maharajadhiraj Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his birth anniversary.”
